Colleen Donahue

Colleen joined Michael E. Magliari, P.C., in 2000, and has focused her practice in the areas of estate planning and estate administration.  She assists clients in the development and implementation of straightforward to sophisticated estate plans, charitable planning, lifetime gifting techniques, antenuptial agreements, and asset protection techniques.  In addition, Colleen assists with basic real estate matters as well as business creation and succession planning, as these are frequently important components of the estate planning process.

With regard to estate administration, Colleen also assists with the post-death issues of probate and trust administration, including the preparation of federal estate tax returns.

Colleen is honored to serve as an Adjunct Professor at Saint Louis University School of Law, where she has taught a class in estate planning from 2006 to the present time.  She has also been a guest lecturer in the Animal Law class, speaking on estate planning for pets.

As an attorney licensed in Missouri, Colleen serves on the Missouri Bar Probate and Trust Committee and was on the drafting committee for the Missouri Uniform Trust Code which was implemented in 2005.  She has served as a presenter for many continuing education seminars for attorneys, including at the Missouri Bar Annual Meeting, and co-authored a chapter on trust administration in the Missouri Bar Deskbook Series.

Colleen received her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2000 and her B.A. from Indiana University (Double Major, Political Science & History; Minor in Music) in 1997.

Outside of the practice of law, you will likely find Colleen participating in music as the piccoloist/flutist with the Northwinds Concert Band, as the lead alto saxophone with the North County Community Big Band, playing in a pit orchestra around town, serving as the treasurer of the Flute Society of Saint Louis, or attending a performance.
